Pura Tanah Lot is one of Bali's seven sacred sea temples, believed to protect the island from evil spirits from the sea. The temple sits atop a large offshore rock formation, accessible only at low tide. Built in the 16th century by the priest Dang Hyang Nirartha, it remains an active site of Hindu worship.
The surrounding coastal area features cliffs, tide pools, and additional shrines. Sunset is the most magical time, when the temple silhouette is framed against golden skies. Cafes and warungs along the cliff top offer perfect vantage points.
Entrance fee ~60,000 IDR. Best visited 1 hour before sunset. Modest dress required (sarong provided). 45 minutes from Nirjhara.
