How to get to Nusa Penida
Fast boat from Sanur — 30 min, 200-350k IDR one way. Schedules 7:00, 8:00, 9:00... Tickets in Padang Bai (Maruti Duta Express), Sanur (Angel Billabong Fast Boat).
West Tour (classic 1 day)
- Kelingking Beach — Bali's most famous viewpoint, T-Rex cliff. Stairs down (302 steps) — for fit only, 45 min descent + 60 min ascent;
- Angel's Billabong — natural rock pool (avoid at high tide);
- Broken Beach — round hole in cliff with ocean inside;
- Crystal Bay — crystal water beach (manta ray snorkelling possible).
East Tour (day two, optional)
- Diamond Beach — white sand, dramatic cliffs;
- Atuh Beach — wild aerial view;
- Rumah Pohon — tree house over the abyss (queue!).
Island transport
Car with driver — 500-700k IDR/day. Best option. Scooter only for experienced — narrow, potholed roads, steep climbs.
Practical
- 7:00 boat out — return 16:00-17:00;
- Comfortable shoes (Kelingking stairs);
- 3-4 litres water, snacks;
- Strong sunscreen;
- Seasickness pills if prone.
